Tip # 2: Keep in mind the age of the tires

Yes, tires also age, and they wear out over time. However, unlike us, they can not hide. The date of manufacture of a tire is indicated as a four-digit number on the sidewall of the tire. After the DOT symbol, the last 4 digits indicate the date of manufacture of the tire. The first two of these four digits indicate the construction week (ranging from "01" to "53"). The last two digits indicate the year of manufacture (eg, a tire with the information "DOT XXXXXXX2004" was manufactured in the 20th week of 2004).

For tires manufactured before the year 2000, three digits instead of four indicate the date of manufacture (eg, a tire with the information "DOT XXXXXXX274" was manufactured in the 27th week of 1994).

Many drivers opt for 4-season tires, which can offer a balance of safety and economy all year round, but not in extreme weather conditions.
